The Legacy Award - Sustainability
IGNITE is the Regional Centre of Excellence for Sustainable Communities in North East England. It is one of eight such centres established at the request of central government to address the quality of place making and to develop the skills needed to practice a holistic and sustainable approach to planning, implementing and maintaining sustainable communities. Within the current business plan IGNITE has three work streams; the implementation of the Design Review and Enabling Service, Learning Networks and Knowledge Management. 

 

The Heritage Award
English Heritage helps people to understand, value and care for and enjoy England's historic environment. We are the Government's statutory advisor on the historic environment and we work in  partnership with central government departments, local authorities, voluntary bodies and the private sector to conserve and promote the historic environment.

Health & Safety
The Association for Project Safety (APS) is the largest multi-disciplinary membership body in the UK for individuals and organisations involved in the design, planning and managing of construction projects. The APS is committed to shaping and sharing best practice in construction health and safety risk management and believes that the CDM2007 regulations and the holistic ethos which they espouse are central not only to achieving a safe environment for all construction and maintenance workers but also a co-ordinated approach to design and construction project risk management.
