Worker Engagement in the Construction Industry

The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) believes that involving the workforce is at the very heart of sensible health & safety management. This seminar will give an insight into the legislative requirements, practical application and overall relevance of Worker Engagement to the construction industry.
This latest in the series of seminars with the HSE will contain three presentations, as follows:
HSE Presentation - Rob Hirst
Rob is the Principal Inspector with the Construction Division of the Health and Safety Executive based at Newcastle upon Tyne.
Rob will outline the legislative requirements underpinning the concept of worker engagement, its place in the modern construction industry, and HSE’s initiatives aimed at improving worker engagement in the construction industry.
Case Study - Mark Atkinson
Mark is the Health and Safety Manager for Clugston Construction Ltd., a multinational organisation with over 70 years experience in the construction industry
Mark will give a practical viewpoint on how Clugstons have implemented worker engagement in the working environment and he will outline the benefits this has brought to the company.
Legal Perspective - James Thompson
James is a Partner with Ward Hadaway solicitors, in the regulatory team, specialising in health and safety law.
James will give a lawyers perspective on worker engagement and the key legal issues arising in this area.
