Improving Relationships

Allergate House, Belmont, Durham, DH1 1TW

In the second of the series of NLP events it will focus on the relationships with people and how to improve.

Do you know someone, a client or a colleague, who you have to work with but who you just don’t get on with? Do some people or events always seem to trigger an emotional reaction in you? Do you upset other people unintentionally? Do you sometimes have trouble motivating yourself and others? Do you lose battles you should have won? NLP, or Neuro-Linguistic Programming, is a way of understanding yourself and others to produce better outcomes and more fruitful relationships: in short, better people skills.

This seminar will help you to understand what NLP is, to learn some of its key concepts, and to add more tools to your ‘People Skills Toolbox.’

  • What is NLP? Where it came from and its evidence base.
  • How we make sense of the world.
  • Maps of the World or why ‘there’s nowt queerer than folk’.
  • NLP terms and what they mean
  • A word in your shell-like: The importance of being earnest about language.
  • Things to try out – a question of questions, looking for solutions.

By the end of the seminar you will have some understanding of what NLP is and whether you think it’s worth further exploration. At the end of the session:
  • You may understand your own patterns of behaviour better and be able to change unhelpful ones.
  • You may have greater insight into what motivates others and why they behave as they do.
  • You may be able to communicate more effectively and become more influential with clients, colleagues and others.
