Improving Communication & Collaboration in the Construction Industry

The successful completion of construction projects depends on the exchange of information that is accurate, effective and timely between a diverse team, with different disciplines and sometimes different goals. Traditional communication methods are time and labour intensive and the emergence of collaboration technology that can control, share and expose information better, has raised the expectations for providing greater visibility and better quality information.  

Despite the growth in adoption, there is still resistance from the construction industry for deploying these types of solutions, with the lack of a clear set of quantifiable benefits often cited as a reason.
 
This seminar will look at some of the key challenges the industry faces with communications and team collaboration, explore how technology can help and will look closely at the tangible and in-tangible benefits that can be gained. There will also be a demonstration of the Microsoft Collaboration Platform, SharePoint 2010, and how it can be used within the Construction sector.
