Heritage Skills Initiative: Contractors Breakfast
Allergate House, Belmont, Durham, DH1 1TW
Heritage Skills Initiative have great pleasure in inviting you to attend a contractor’s breakfast meeting on the built heritage sector.
The conservation, repair and maintenance sector in England is worth around £4.7billion and the pre-1919 buildings of the North East need the right skills and correct knowledge for this to be undertaken properly.
With a slowdown in the housing market, many homeowners are choosing to renovate and repair their existing properties resulting in an increase in demand for those with the skills to repair older buildings
Studies show that construction companies that continue investment in training and workforce development during a recession have a greater survival rate and are also better positioned to take advantage of subsequent market growth.
The event is being hosted by the North of England Civic Trust’s Heritage Skills Initiative with representatives from ConstructionSkills, Constructing Excellence and the National Heritage Training Group (NHTG).
The representatives will also be available to discuss your particular queries and as necessary arrange a follow-up visit to your company to register for the new Heritage Skills NVQ Level 3 and CSCS Heritage Skills Card and discuss funding to off-set the costs of training.
